Medical bills for a life-changing medical illness such as sarcoma followed by a leg amputation can be overwhelming. One way to help is with a monetary gift to help with costs beyond what insurance will cover. This is especially a good thing to do if you don’t live in the area and can’t help with meals, housekeeping, local fundraisers, etc. Click here for more details.

Our help was getting the house ready for yesterday’s homecoming. Everything was “spic and span,” when Fred swung in on his crutches. It’s amazing how adept he is already !!!

      • Kathy, so nice and so good to hear from you. Fred is stunned by my friends who haven’t even met him (yet) and send love and help our way. We missed the class reunion because of the sarcoma but promise to make the next one! Thanks for letting me know you care from so far away.
        Anne

    • Lucy…what a gem you are. We got your beautiful card…I’m going to frame the words. Thank you so much. It helps us to know that you are with us in prayer. -Anne

  2. Fred,
    It’s Jr Clobes
Not sure if you remember me or not. We played pick up ball at the junior high with Rick. I think I gave you the nickname “Fast Freddy” I live down south in Michigan so It may be hard to get up there during the week for the dinner. I will however help any way I can buy sending a donation or buying something in the auction. I always read Mlive the Bay City addition just to keep up with the local happenings so I was very surprised and sadden to read this . So from my family to you and yours we wish you all the best and I know with your spirit and fight all will work out.

Many prayers from the Clobes Family

    • Of course I remember you JR. You were a tough cover defensively. We had a lot of good runs at the junior high. Thanks for your prayers and hope all is well with you and your family.

      Take care,
      Fast Freddy

  3. I can help cook if you need help this Wednesday.

We want to dontate a Champagne Cruise on our Sailboat next summer for the fundriser.

  4. Hello im not sure if you remember me or not but i was your cleaning person in your building for about 4 years. I will be attending the benefit tomorrow and just wanted to say that if you guys need help around the house that i would be able to if you need it.

  5. We want to recognize my sister Lucy for her generous contribution to our mental health before the amputation surgery. She offered us her version of “make a wish” and gave us an all expense paid two days and nights at Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club. It was her idea and all she wanted to know was “what does Fred want to do?” and his answer was “golf one more time with my leg” .This is in the Top Ten golf courses in the whole country and located along the dunes on Lake Michigan. Fred was still recovering from the August 21st 5hr surgery that tried to take all the sarcoma and save his leg so golfing was difficult but he did it. Arcadia Bluffs treated us like royalty and allowed us to take the golf cart right to the edge of the greens. Lucy and Ron…you gave us peace at a time when our heads were full of questions and anguish. One week ahead of surgery we could enjoy the sunshine of September and go forward with hope. -Anne and Fred

  6. Anne and Fred,
I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to the benefit dinner, but I’ve made a donation just the same. I hope Fred is recovering and getting stronger every day. I’m sorry I can’t be there to help you more, but know that you are both in my daily thoughts and prayers as you move forward on this journey.

  7. Fred,
The Fred I remember never would back down from a tough situation and I know you won’t with this one either. Our prayers are with you.

    • Thanks Steve. Things are actually going pretty good. I have a prosthetic leg and started PT. Hope to be back on my bike and the links this summer. Take care.

      Fred
